13 October 2010 Rangitikei High School DVD Challenge The Rangitikei Region is part of a Major Regional Initiative which focuses on tourism promotion under the Te Kahui Tupua Sacred Peaks brand, marketed under The Chosen Pathways - Majesty, Exhilaration, Enchantment, Legacy and Expression.
| Turakina Maori Girls won the 2009 challenge and they intend on retaining their winning title at this years premier evening.

24 October 2010 The Rangitikei River Loop Cycle Classic The cycle classic consists of a 100 km and a 43 km ride that commences in rural Hunterville, a service town on SH1 in the Rangitikei and circuits around the scenic Rangitikei River.
