Wheriko Anglican Maori Church
Te Wheriko (Jericho) Church at Parewanui was consecrated by the Reverend Richard Taylor in 1862. Taylor had been an Anglican missionary to the M?ori population in the Whanganui and Rangit?kei areas from 1843.

Winiata marae, also sometimes known as Mangaone, is located 2 km south of Taihape on State Highway 1. Its principal hap? are Ng?ti Hinemanu and Ng?ti Paki.The wharenui is called Tautahi and the wharekai is Hinemanu. The marae connects ancestrally to the waka T?kitimu, the maunga Aorangi and the awa Rangitikei.
