Winiata marae, also sometimes known as Mangaone, is located 2 km south of Taihape on State Highway 1. Its principal hapu are Ngati Hinemanu and Ngati Paki. The wharenui is called Tautahi and the wharekai is Hinemanu. The marae connects ancestrally to the waka Takitimu, the maunga Aorangi and the awa Rangitikei.
